The scientific monograph Youth Religiosity and Catechetical Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, edited by Full Prof. Jadranka Garmaz, PhD, Assist. Prof. Ivica Jurić, PhD, and Assoc. Prof. Edvard Punda, PhD, has been published as part of the ODNOSI project (IP-UNIST-20).
The monograph comprises nine scientific papers that examine youth religiosity, contemporary challenges of adolescence, and opportunities for improving catechetical preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation from different disciplinary perspectives. Particular attention is devoted to the role of the family, the Church, and educational institutions in the personal and spiritual development of young people, the formation of religious identity, and the influence of the contemporary digital environment on their development.
Alongside theoretical and pastoral contributions, the monograph presents the results of empirical research conducted among Confirmation candidates, religious education teachers, and priests in the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska. It also addresses the quality of parish catechesis, the transmission of faith to young people, and opportunities for using digital storytelling in the catechesis of Confirmation candidates.
The publication is intended for scholars and professionals in theology, catechetics, pedagogy, and the social sciences, as well as priests, catechists, religious education teachers, and all those interested in the Christian education and integral development of young people.
The monograph was published by the Catholic Faculty of Theology, University of Split, and the Catholic publishing house and journal Crkva u svijetu. It was published with the support of the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska and the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth.
